Gift giving in general can be challenging so we wanted to share some different ideas for the loved ones in your family, on a healing journey.

Luxury Edition

Are you looking for some last minute luxury wellness gift ideas to spoil your loved one this season? This includes some of our wish list items along with some of the go-tos for our own luxurious self-care.

Healing services

Check out your local spa for services like lymphatic massage, craniosacral therapy, or a salt float. Each of these services offers different benefits and range from relaxation to full body detox and serve as a relaxing and therapeutic mini-escape.

Weighted blanket

Sometimes we need a little extra help to get us to sleep. Whether we struggle with the monkey mind and anxiety keeping us awake, a weighted blanket may be just what you needed to soothe anxiety, allowing sleep to move-in. We love Silk & Snow and Bearaby’s blankets, because they are organic and sustainably made.

Testing Subscription

As the popularity of lifestyle and functional medicine continue to grow in popularity, so does the demand for testing. However, functional tests can add up quickly and become very expensive. That’s why we love Function. It is working to democratize testing and has made many of the standard functional tests available for a reasonable price, with the annual membership. The potential for this is huge – not only for functional health, but for our personal healing journeys.

Private chef services

Before you completely close the blog post, if you are looking to spend a few hundred dollars on a gift for someone, you may be surprised what you can find. You can pay hundreds for a mediocre pre-packaged food services or you can get home-cooked meals! For a few hundred dollars, plus groceries, you can hire someone to come to your home to make a week or two worth of food. For your loved one on the go that finds it difficult to cook healing foods for themself, this can be a treasured gift. You get the added benefit or directly supporting someone in your local community.

Health coaching

We would be remiss if we didn’t tout the benefits of personalized 1×1 health coaching. One of the things we love most about health coaching is the life-long lessons you take with you. This is the gift that keeps on giving because the goal of health coaching is setting you up for success to manage your personal health journey, going forward. You can even sign up for a free breakthrough session here. Help your loved ones take their health into their own hands.

For the Home Cook

The list of last minute wellness gift ideas for the home cook is endless. Whether you’re upgrading cookware or stocking someone’s pantry with healing foods, you can’t go wrong with thoughtful and sustainable gifts, whenever possible. Let your gifts do double duty this holiday season and maybe even introduce your loved ones to some unexpected culinary treats, that give back at the same time.

Safer cookware

It’s no secret that teflon coated and non-stick pans are not good for our health. There are multiple risks to cooking with non-stick cookware, so what better gift than a new pan for your favorite home cook. We are big fan of the must Lodge cast-iron pans. Our favorite lust is the All-Clad stainless line that heats perfectly without all the nasty side effects of teflon pans.

Healing foods

Times have changed and finding healing foods is easier than ever! If your loved one is struggling with FODMAPs, check out the FODMAP friendly foods at Gourmend or buy a membership to Thrive Market, where you can shop by healing diet and get healing foods at a discount. We are also obsessed with Pure Indian Foods’ cultured ghee. This is a staple in the Pomona home!

Kitchen time savers

While we don’t love having too many kitchen appliances, there are a few we cannot live without. One is our Instapot! This thing does it all and we have made gallons of bone broth in this appliance which gets more mileage than everything but the stove. We would also be lost without our hand blender. There are so many great options on the market but we really enjoy the Cuisinart for a solid value and the Vitamix for a splurge.

Tea fancy

Know any tea drinkers? There is nothing more healing than tea. Whether it’s a medicinal tea or just a comforting warm drink, here are a couple places we love. Fellow tea lover Amber Jackson not only sells fun blends from her shop Black Leaf Tea, she also does it while celebrating and uplifting Black culture. We also have a never-ending stock of Numi in our pantry. We love their organic teas along with their commitment to organic, fair-trade, and sustainable products.

For the Nester

Some folks love cuddling up at home with a good book and feathering their nest, rather than taking vacations. There are also folks that can’t really easily leave their home, so gifts that make the home a bit more comfortable are brilliant. Here are a few last minute wellness gift ideas, for your favorite home-body. These surprising gifts support our healing journeys and those around us, at the same time.

Air purifier

Ok, we admit it may not sound very romantic, but air purifiers are incredible additions to any home, especially if someone in your home suffers from chronic illness. These are even better if you have pets or someone immuno-compromised in the home. We lust after the Blue Air Health Protect purifiers which clean the air of bacteria and viruses. Post-pandemic, we can’t think of a better investment for your home.

Nature’s air purifier

You have heard it before, but we will say it again. Plants are great for cleaning the air and can be a source of great joy for people with green thumbs. We are currently obsessed with succulents, but we also have medicinal and big leafy plants all over our home and garden. Not sure where to begin? You can get a super easy-to-care-for succulents, like the options from Succulently Urban, Lula’s Garden, or for a gorgeous exotic, check out The Sill. Their selection is for the more adventurous of plant lovers but we adore their selection of Monstera and Calathea species! They even have a quiz for match make you with the perfect plant for your gift recipient.

Climate conscious home makeover

Again, this isn’t very sexy but sometimes the best gifts look different. Are you looking for ways to help detox your home with a little Christmas gift to yourself or someone you love? There are so many great options these days. Give your laundry a makeover with Dirty Labs, or your home cleaners a safe overhaul with Blueland‘s refillable and eco-friendly cleansers.

Feathering the nest

Not sure what to get for that person with great style? We are big fans of Greenhouse Mercantile. They have a selection of beautiful hand poured candles, homemade incense and other zero waste products for the home.

Gift giving can be intimidating for some folks and for those of us with chronic illness, some of the old standards just don’t work. (Looking at you perfume). We hope these last minute wellness gift ideas got the creative juices flowing and provided some unexpected and practical ideas. Sometimes the best gifts are the things we wouldn’t buy ourselves but really need.
